Beit Dajan Dress
This dress represents the modern interpretation of the traditional Beit Dajan dress, a style that became widely recognized in the early twentieth century. Distinguished by its richly embroidered surface, it features the characteristic Jiyab motifs, composed of paired triangles, alongside the iconic cypress tree motifs, among the most celebrated elements of Beit Dajan embroidery. Crafted from black fabric, the dress provides a striking contrast that enhances the brilliance of the red silk embroidery, while the motifs flow harmoniously across the neckline, bodice, and side panels (banayeq), creating a composition of remarkable richness and detail.
The Inash Al-Usra Society continues to produce the Beit Dajan dress entirely by hand, faithfully preserving its authentic design, traditional motifs, and time-honored embroidery techniques. Every dress is meticulously embroidered by the Society’s skilled artisans, whose expertise—honed over more than six decades—ensures that this iconic garment remains a true expression of Palestinian heritage and craftsmanship.
